 What is this part?
this is in the engine bay of a ford 2006 explorer 4.0 liter. It is located on a bracket over the driverside wheel arch. It has 2 hoses connected to it, one of which goes to the air intake down stream of the air filter. the other line iseems to vanish behind the engine.
It fell off it's bracket and rubbed against header and melted the top as you can see from the picture- it has exposed a spring - so i have to imagine that it is a pressure sensor of some sort!
The engine light is on, and the ODB2 says that there is a problem with the fuel vaccum system? |
