I'm in the process of swapping a T-3650 into my '02. I'm doing the swap with good used parts, which should be fine for now because I don't beat on the car that much.

Basically, you need either a T45 or T3650, a Mustang slip yoke, a pedal setup (including cable or hydraulic lines), a flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate, and some form of tune, because the PCM is going to flip out when it doesn't see the shift solenoids.

If you plan on "driving it like you stole it", you should at least get a good aftermarket clutch and pressure plate. The other parts can be stock to start with, just bear in mind that Vics weigh more than Mustangs, and those stock parts will fail sooner than in a 'Stang.

I have everything I need, except for the tune, and I have less than $300 invested so far. So it can be done for a reasonable amount of money, it just depends on what kind of parts you want/need to put in your car, and what kind of deals you can find.

I'm also on CrownVic.net, and Mr. Hodges is right in that it is the best source for almost anything Crown Vic related.
