The Ford manual tells you which dimples have to be drilled to get at the bolts. Had to do it on my '99, per guidance from my '02 manual.

The glass is springloaded, so if it's up when you pull the motor, it will stay up.

Check my prior posts on this, and you'll likely save the cost of a new motor.
