Default 91 4 wheel drive troubleshooting question

Hi, I am new to your forum and have a question, I just purchased a 91 Ranger XLT,EXT Cab, 4.0 with automatic tranny, my 4 wheel drive is not working, I press the button on the dash and it doesn't light up and the truck doesn't go into 4 wheel drive, I checked the fuse under the hood and it is good, any suggestions?
