I saw a Turbo kit added on a 1994 lightning on Powerblock's "TRUCKS", and ive always heard of putting superchargers on them too! Which is better, and which is more performance enhancing?
There are alot of good cam companies out there but in general, I agree that Comp Cams is great for Ford stuff. He is also correct that depending on what it is you want to accomplish, they will make a very good recommendation. It is important to know if you are staying normally aspirated (n/a) or going to use a power adder such as turbo/supercharger because that decision will affect your cam selection. We erroniosly installed a cam designed for S/C or nitros in our turbo 5.0 Mustang and it just would not dyno up to expectations....so we swapped in the recommended turbo cam from Comp Cams and with no other changes picked up 60 horsepower at the rear wheels....now we're talkin'...lol.

Turbo vs. S/C? Gotta love it..... seems that most "premium" kits of either turbo or supercharger companies will cost "about "the same....$5000 plus for what they consider to be bolt on kits. Turbo power adders are my personal favorite because there is no parasitic loss (exhaust gas powers them) and you can generally add or subtract PSI (pressure=power) more easily than changing pulleys and belts on the supercharger and it takes engine horsepower to turn the belts, pulleys and head unit creating the parasitic loss. That being said, most turbo set ups are more difficult to install and take more time to tune correctly. So which is better?....I will bet that you could get just as many S/C guys defending their decision as turbo guys telling you why theirs is best...... oh, by the way, altho turbos are my favorite, I am in the process of building a 5.0 with a Procharger D1 for my Fairmont.... have we talked nitros yet? No... thats in my F150.
