I wouldn't get the extended waranty. The 3.0 V6 will easily last 200K+ with proper maintenance. If you aren't 4x4 savvy then you might want to consider the warranty as 4x4 parts aren't the cheapest. Gotta love salvage yards.

Fords 3.0 V6 is one of their better engines produced. I highly recommend it. My taurus passed 91 000 miles last week and it hasn't required anything outside of regular maintenance. A seat belt spring was replaced under warranty around 20K. No biggie.
