moving onto the electrical....
in the past i have used the painless fuse box with good results. in the 51 ford i ripped out every single wire in the car and started over. however with this car, the wireing looks to be in really good shape so no need to go to that extreem. i am running a GM one wire alt, so the external voltage reg is not needed which means some wire changes need to be made. here is my solution.

i plan on running an inline 30 amp fuse to the main power going to the light switch/key switch direct from the battery. for all other new circuits like the distrubitor, horn relay, driving lights, engine bay LEDs this little fuse block should work fine. the plan is to mount it close to the battery.
