The part that's being labeled as the EGR sensor is actually known as the Differential Pressure Feedback sensor (DPFE), and DPFE's are known for going bad on the 3.0 engine, so if your 3.0 throws a 0401 code then the DPFE is more than likely the culprit and is the first thing that should be checked.
