It is my understanding that the abs light is specific to the abs system, but the RED brake light can be the emergency brake not disengaging, or a more serious problem, there is a problem in the hydrolic brake system.
Perhaps fluid is low, perhaps something else.

Riding around with an abs light on is one thing... with the RED brake light is quite another.
A hydrolic failure could be disasterous

Take it to a shop that specializes in brakes and habe them check out the ABS subsystem. This is serious. Have the pros look at it.

Maybe I'm confused.
But I've got an idea.

If you drive it for a mile, and THEN take it to the shop the lights would be ON right?

These smilies are cute.. aren't they?
