Brakes & SuspensionBrakes are one of the most common mechanical problems that plague any vehicle. Post all questions related to brakes drums, pads and plates. Brakes might be easy but suspension problems can be a real pain. Post those questions here as well and get an answer!
Hi all, thanks in advance for your help..Problem is that my wifes 2002
windstar abs, brake, tracking lights come on all at the same time after
driving for about 1 to 6 miles. Checked the wheel sensors ohms and they
were all about the same (1800 ohms). Checked and cleaned the plug
that goes into the module (guess its the module?), under the hood on
fire wall. Anyone else have the problem? If so I could use some help.
Windstars are tricky. Did you have the codes pulled when the lights are on? If not do it. You most likely will find a bunch of them. If you clear them all and a P1085 comes back then you need the ABS module under the vehicle. That is the most common problem with them.

Any code starting with a "P" is a Powertrain code, which to the best of my knowledge, does not include the ABS subsystem.

Why are Windstar's tricky? They share a simple ABS system like other Fords.

Thanks all
I have a 99 Windstar which is giving similar problems, so I got a friend to scan it, it had a bunch of codes all saying something to the effect of
" Out put failure from ABS control module " and it listed all 4 wheels.
Am I to assume from this that the ABS control module is "TOAST" ???
Output failure?... do they have a fuse?
IF so could it be blown?
BTW... I am not being facetious.
