I just inherited a 2000 e150 sherrod conversion van and picked it up 2 weeks ago it had 16847 miles on it so it has been parked a long time. the problem is the abs light will not go off even after driving 1500 miles to my house. will have to buy a manual for it but not sure where to start looking for the fix. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!
I was a ford mechanic in the 80's so I am not familure with the abs computer and I am pretty sharp at figuring things out so my next question is on the abs computer does it automaticly reset if you repair the problem like the airbag system does? i've heard both ways, you have to have it reset and i've heard it will reset it self. just wanting to educate myself before i have it read by a shop. I started off being a Chevy mechanic in Dallas then moved and whent to a ford dealer here when they went out of bussines I studied avation and did mechanics for the airforce. I moved to a farming town and went to work on diesels and found my nitch. for some reason I just realy liked Diesels and they were good to me! so I am mechanicaly inclined just un educated on newer auto computers. they always seem more complicated un till you figure them out then they dont seem too bad.
