I am not sure, some of those spray on polishes are just so dang easy to use.

No wax on wax off for me!

I have always used wax and buffing and It has kept a good shine on my car, but I have heard that the if you use the spray on products or wax from the car wash it is insufficient and it protects but it is short lived in comparison to other products. Best way to keep a good shine longer, is to park under a cover and keep it clean.

I will soon have a fresh new paint job on the windstar.... now with fresh paint, you are supposed to wait like 3 months, then you can wax and stuff. (If I'm wrong please tell me)

How can I protect fresh paint from the road grime without screwing up the paint? I do not want tar, and other road grime messing up the paint. What can I do to protect it?

I plan to wash and wax it later when the paint completely cures.

I've heard 90 days before waxing/polishing fresh paint. So, yeah, 3 months. I'd say just keep it washed for that time before you wax/polish.

polish then wax.

Wax acts like a protectant. You should always wax last with what ever your doing.

That depends on how you want your car to look and depends on what model you have. Either or can be done but that's how the car owner would want his ride to be. Wax or polish, polish or wax, they're both good.

My 1992 F150 and 1973 F100 are garage kept and rarely driven so I pretty much strictly only use polish on them. On the 92 I use Turtle Wax color cure polish(makes the original paint shine like new!) and on the 73 I use Liquid glass. My wife's 92 F150 sits outside so I wax it once a week(weather permitting) with Turtle Wax carnuba paste wax. Our 94 Tempo is the daily driver, so it gets waxed with the Turtle Wax carnuba a couple of times per month.
