Default Anybody ever claybar?

Anybody ever used a claybar? I have, and I must say, it really does a nice job of cleaning up. I was very impressed with how well it worked, and would recommend trying it after waxing/polishing your car.

I clay bar before I wax/polish.
I like to get all the impurities out before making it shine.
Wash, clay bar, quick wash, and then polish.

It makes a very nice difference. The paint is so smooth when your done.

Wink

I know this post is a little old but I use the claybar also. There are different kinds. There is a bar that removes heavy contaminants like over spray or some kind of fallout. Then there is the kind that you must have used because you can use it and then polish or wax your car without using the variable speed buffer. Before you use the clay, take a piece of cellophane, (the plastic over a cigarette pack or such) and put it over your fingers and run it along the surface of your cars painted surfaces and you will feel the contaminants on your paint, which is were the claybar will remove the contaminants before applying your finish product. Great product but your will use a little elbow grease.

Claying is a great step in detailing your car. Use it after washing and it will remove all the particles of road grime, sap, bugs...etc that are embedded into your clearcoat. Mothers, Meguiars, Sonus and many others all make a good clay bar.

I always thought you Clay bar your car after washing it and then Wax your car. Waxing it first and then using the Clay defeats and removes the Wax application. Clay is to be used to remove the impurity's and junk that get stuck in the paint and would remove the Wax if you Waxed it first.

Am I wrong?
