Unhappy Leaky Escape after car wash?

I just bought a new Escape within the past week and took it to my favorite car wash to get the first week's grime off it. Unfortunately, when I pulled out of the car wash, I noticed that a file folder I had in the front passenger floor had some puddles of water on it. I felt under the back of the glove compartment and it was dripping water (perhaps the firewall has a leak?). The inside of the glove compartment is bone dry, however. What could be the problem and what do I ask the dealer to check? I've never had a car leak at this car wash before - and I took my previous three or four cars there.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. This leak is depressing me greatly - I haven't even owned the car a week yet. Does this mean I'm going to keep having a leak in that spot? Or is it an easy fix?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Addendum - While taking it to the dealer to fix the leak, the A/C died......

If it is new, don't mess with it. Take it back to the dealer immediately. Sometimes these leaks are easy to fix, sometimes they are very difficult.

Oh man I feel your pain. We have had our 2010 Escape for about 3 weeks now. We took delivery in a Monsoon. No leaks though.

dealers responsibility, NOT YOURS

dont mess with finding it or fixing it cause that gets them off the hook for it..
