Yeah, its in the name...
Mopar people go apeshit over the name Hemi. The 4.6 and 5.4's today have the semi-hemi head. Most don't realize or don't care, they want the name.
It's the same thing for the LS1, LS6, LS7, and LSX. Those motors while are actually more old school technology than the 4.6 or 5.4. Again its the name.
Even Caddilac has a name for their V8's, its the NorthStar. While it isn't so much of an issue, the guys at Bowling Green really wanted me to know that the XLR had a NORTHSTAR in the cars.
The Triton name doesn't stick to well, and Cammer just sounds too, idk, 4 bangerish. There was talk of bringing the names Windsor or Cleveland back. Cleveland is too old school, and most people would'nt get it. Windsor is too wore out, everyone's had a truck or car with a 351w. Boss is what they decided on. Its a name that doesn't infringe on shelby's cars, like cobra jet would, but still has that ring of a legend.
From what I hear the engine will be available as a 7 liter too.
