Hello
I had bought an 02 windstar about three years ago at 80k it has had a vibration in the steering wheel and seats, especially the back ones. You can feel the vehicle weave from left to right when you go below 30 k’s and has a bad vibration that progressively gets worse when speeding up to 110 to 120k. The dealer put new tires on the back wheels when bought at 80k, strange considering it had worn tires on the front and it is a front wheel drive vehicle. and has gone through two more sets as the tires only go bad on the back wheels, they develop a warping and it gets so bad the steel belts separate which results in a flat. I think the axle is bent or the wheel assembly on either side of the axle.
I have ruled out the tire issue because it seems that the tires only wear and fail on the rear axle. Two sets have been installed and both have the same symptoms so it must be something within the axle and wheel assembly.it was used on an acreage due to the underbody debri. It has also been in an accident before I purchased it, but not sure where the damaged was. i have spent over a grand trying to correct this problem, from tie rods, new tires, alignments.
please help!! i have no idea where to go from here
