Default Charging problem 97 V6 taurus

Hi, I am new to this forum.

I have a 97 Taurus V6 DOHC with the small alternator. The problem started while going down the freeway. The speedometer quit, then the radio, then the lights, etc.. Finally it quit. I replaced the battery and it ran for a while then started its problem again. This time i replaced the battery, alternator, and all cables. The car ran fine for a few months. Now the problem has started again. i have talked to several mechanics, none have any ideas. does anyone have any ideas?

thanks

The first thing I would do is take the alt. in and have it tested at an auto parts store. Then go from there. If the alt. is still good you may have a bad ground. If its bad you might have a small short. we could go on for hours with this. But the first step i would check the alt and see if it went bad.
