Default 99 windstar has a mind of its own

Long series of strange electrical problems. Started with right rear flasher not working but inside the minivan it was clicking rapidly. Not a bulb problem and corrected itself. Next the right turn signal would not turn off even after the iginition was turned off! Corrected itself again. Next the interior lights blink on and off intermittently. Also the dash "door ajar" light stays on during driving but will sometimes turn itself off. All doors secure. My wife says its a case of possession but I think it's a vehicle with a history of electrical problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like maybe a bad ground and some bad door switches.

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

Did you remove the door light switches or just spray some cleaner in the door?

I say take this thing down to Carmax and sell it quick.

I cleaned off the blackened metal contact switch ends with fine sandpaper. Didn't remove them. The vehicle has only 45K so I'd like to hold onto it.

It isnt the contacts, it is the button sticking and keeping the lights on.

For anyone interested, I brought the vehicle to Ford service and the conclusion ($718) was a defective rear electrical module.
