stater won't stop cranking

i have a 1987 ford f150 and when i go start the truck the starter won't stop cranking even after i pull the key out, i have to disconnect the battery to stop it. i replaced the ignition switch, and the starter and starter solenoid are only 8 months old. My last guess to the problem is a short somewhere on the wiring. If anyone could help i'd appreciate it.
