 Excursion 6.8 Engine will not start , Solinoid problem
Hello out there, I have an Excursion 6.8 V10. I am sure the Ignition and starting system is the same as the F series Trucks. My problem is a few weeks ago I noticed the engine would not start, no clicks or sounds that I could here inside. I would turn the ignition a couple of times and then it would kick off just fine. The next time I would get in no problem cranked first time. Checked the battery connection and load test no problem. Could not catch it to troubleshoot. Problem is I am out of town now and my wife is stuck with the problem and VERY frustrated at me, because I didn't fix it. I always happens this way, but I degress. Anyway, has anyone faced this problem. I figure it is the Motor Relay or the Starter Solinoid. I suspect the Relay (on the front right fender well) because I didn't here anything??? Is there someting I can suggest to here to check (simple like tapping on the relay) until I get back in 5 days? Thank you for your help!
