Default ABS and Brake light on

Hey all,

I have been looking around for answers for my problem and not much luck.

A few weeks ago, the brake light on our 2001 Windstar came on. I say the fluid was almost empty and noticed the leaking pressure switch. After replacing the switch with the new "repair kit" everything seemed to work ok. I even cleaned the cabling with electrical cleaner and let it all dry before running the vehicle.

Yesterday, I was driving the van and the ABS and Brake light came on. The pressure switch was not leaking and the fluid level was fine. I read that there could be fluid on the connectors of the ABS ECM module. I can't find this part. The hayes manual says it's mounted under the battery tray. There's nothing there. Could this be the case? That there is fluid down there from my previous leak? If so, why is it now just showing up? Also i read that the ABS can overheat when it's hot out. Yesterday, it was 97 outside. Could that be it?

Any help would be appreciated. I've had about enough with this van and it's constant issues.

Thanks
Mark

The ABS pump and module are located under the car in the drivers seat area. Take a look at this site and it will answer some questions about the ABS problems on the Windstar.
