97 explorer keyless entry pad not taking master code Well, we bought a used Explorer 1997 and discovered that basically everything in the drivers door was jacked up to put it politely. We already replaced the lock assembly and have an exterior door handle on order. We resorted to moving the interior door handle from the back door to the front door for now. We also are missing a rod that goes from the tumbler to the latch, so we have to go to pick n pull and find one.
My problem is that I found the master code for the keyless entry pad in the back on the sticker on the control module but it won't work. The keypad lights up and the interior light comes on when I start pushing the buttons. Also if I hold down the last two buttons to the right it will lock all the doors. So I know that the pad is at least responding correctly in some way.
Does anyone have any suggestions on why it might not be working and accepting the master code that it was set with from the factory?? |
