87 thunderbird turn signal short my fatherinlaw and i are repairing an 87 t-bird 5.0, the first problem we had was easy to remedy, the window was off track and bound so it couldnt go down, thats really easy...
the major problem we have now is the turn signals. first, someone had tried to put a fuse in side ways and never did anything, i changed the fuse, and turned the blinkers on and they worked fine, except or the indicators on the dash board. after that i turned the key over to start it and it blew the 15 amp fuse. the bad part is, is that it also blew a 20 and a 25 amp fuse upon turning the key to the on postion.
the back of the fuse block looks fine, and there is nothing impeding on the hot or ground connectors to the no. 5 fuse for the directionals. now im no good with fancy electronic cars, and have no idea where to start looking for a short that would cause the fuse to blow upon battery energization.
if someone could give me some suggestions, or a place to go to find a troubleshooting guide, or any help at all, ill be your best friend :smile1: |
