Default 95 Windstar running lights

The (rear) running lights don't light up. At night there is no light from the rear of the van. The brake lights, turn signals and hazards all work. I've checked the fuses and maxi fuses and bulbs. The rear lights are lit in reverse, however when in park or drive, no lights ...

Default more info ...

I've also checked the o/e trailer wiring for corrosion, everything's ok there ... BTW the dash lights are also out (I'm told this is by design ... to alert the driver that the running lights are out) ... any ideas will be most appreciated ...

It seems that the problem might be the light switch itself. I've tested the theory by connecting the brake lights to running lights with a bit of wire. I've ordered the part. I'll keep myself posted (as nobody seems to be responding to this thread [and many others] ... am I wasting my time here on Ford-Forums?)

from: http://www.ford-forums.com/electrica...me-module.html

The problem as it turns out is the badly rusted DRL (daytime-running-light module) which is below and behind the radiator, unprotected from the elements. As it is so rusted, seemingly difficult to remove (esp. due to the corrosion) and not available (so far) ... I came up with another solution to light the running lights, thus rendering my vehicle visible from the rear at night. The solution lies behind the headlight switch. I connected the (green) power wire to the running lights via a connector fuse, thus bypassing the defunct DRL. It now functions so that when the head lights are the running lights are on. Problem solved, however now when the drivers door (only) is opened the chime unit goes off believing the headlights are on (which they're not until I turn the switch) ...
