Exclamation 96 ford econoline charging problem

can anyone help. i have a 96 ford econoline van. for some reason there was a fire under the hood on the driver's side of the engine behind the battery where there were three black boxes, or relays. We later found out that the fire had started because of the alarm wire, so, the three black boxes were burnt, or relays were burnt, melted together. So I went to the junk yard, got the same, you know end with the three relays attached, basically what burnt. Went by the colors (they were the same) and put them back together. Van started no problem but my radio didn't come on and the van is not charging now. What are the three black relays that are mounted on the drivers side wheel well, and could that be the reason I'm not charging. I was also told that there is a fuseable link behind my alternator, could the fire blown that link. And finally, if I had to test that link, is there a way to get to it easily other than taking alternator off.
