Question CVPI Door Sensor + Car Alarm/Remote Start/Keyless Entry

Hi all.

Here's the project:
- '01 Black Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
- Installing Car Alarm/Remote Start/Keyless Entry

Status:
- 95% of wiring has been completed.

Situation:
- The Door Input sensor wire (purple) from the alarm is suppose to transmit a +12V signal to the alarm when the door is opened. In these CVPI's there are two wires that actually indicate door ajar: Dark Blue (Driver's Door) and Black/Orange (Passenger Doors).

In order to tap into both, you have to Diode connect both wires to the input wire from the alarm (Diode so that it sends the signal only FROM the DB & OB to the PL and no feedback between them). Wires are located at the back of the LCM as well as behind the Driver's Kick Panel (where I'm tying into them). Sounds easy enough.

Problem:
To test the input wire, I connected only the dark blue (driver's) wire to the purple input wire and armed the system. When I opened the door, nothing happened. When I closed the door nothing happened (except the shock sensor went off but that's because of the vibration *unrelated*).

Come to find out, apparently these wires are not connected in CVPI's specifically, I am assuming because an officer would not neccisarily want a light giving his position away.

I ripped off the door panel, and found the two lead wires, Dark blue and gray (I assume a ground of sorts) disconnected from the locking mechanism. I reconnected and tried again. This time, the alarm believes that when the door is open, it is secure, but when closed, it is open. SO.....as long as I keep all my doors open, my alarm should work.

LONG STORY SHORT:
I am tapping into the correct wire. The problem is that the input sensor on the alarm is + (pos) while the output from the door (DB wire) is - (neg).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to reverse the polarity or something? Any honest advise would be greatly appreciated.

R. James
