Default 99 windstar odometer, cruise control

This van has been a nightmare from the day I bought it. The latest problem is that I just completed a front brake job (pads and turned rotors) and the odometer just has dashes across it, no cruise control and the message center shows error. I read that the brake switch could be bad on the bottom of the master cylinder so I replaced it with the upgrade kit...didn't fix it. I also checked all fuses and they are good. I had problems getting the rotors off due to rust build up and had to smack them pretty good with a deadblow hammer...could that have hurt something??? I have looked at all connections around and under the master cylinder and nothing was wet with brake fluid. I also took it to a car wash and soaked down the motor while it was running to see it that would help... it didn't. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! Mike CMON! SOMEONE HAS TO HAVE COME ACROSS THIS ISSUE BEFORE??? I'M GONNA DRIVE IT TIL IT BREAKS IN HALF BUT THE CURIOSITY IS KILLIN ME.

Mike,

done a complete front end and rear shocks on my 1999 Windstar SEL. Also, changed my front brake pads and rotors. Same problem as you Mike. Afterwards no cruise control, no odometer just dashes, and a message on the right side saying fuel computer data error.

The front ABS sensors are seized in the steering knuckles so I just tywrapped the harnesses out of the way and left them.

Someone in this forum has the technical know how to guide us to help us zero in on the problem.

Please help!

I hope so. I like the van and as much money as I've had to put in it,..I'd like to keep it awhile. My speed sensors also were frozen in the spindless. I thought about replacing them but I am getting tired of pouring money into this van. Hopefully someone can pinpoint this issue.

PROBLEM SOLVED! I spent the 35 bucks and put a speed sensor on the left front and now everything is up and running again.
