96 explorer transmission problem

I have a 96 4.0 4wd explorer. I've had no problem until today, I put the truck in reverse to back out of a parking lot and it began slipping badly. I then put it in drive and it was slipping all the way home. I checked the fluid and it appeared full and was not at all burnt or smelled burnt.
Could this be vacuum or electrical?

this probably is not vacuum related. It is probably a plugged valve body, a weak pump, or any other of a dozen internal transmission problems. To be honest with you I'm not much help in the transmission department. I can reccomend changing the fluid and filter, along with adding a quart or two of Lucas Transfix. Remember to get the proper fluid (Dexron III I do believe) and NOT to use RTV on the transmission pan gasket.
