I have had to replace crank shaft position sensors on some. That can cause a no spark condition Also check to see if you have an injector pulse Scanners do not generally have codes for the crank sensors

Besides verifying power and ground at the pump, the only thing I can think of would be to use a fuel pressure guage to get accurate readings of fuel pressure. On the v6/v8 the pressure specs are 37-43psi with the key on - engine off. 30-45psi when running. As to your question about the ignition system, yes it could be any of the things you mentioned. If you have a repair manual, check to see if there is a test procedure for the crank sensor or the ignition system. It might be of some assistance.
