Default Newby with troubles

Sorry guys..in my rush I started this thread in the wrong spot!
Greetings all...I'm new here and hope that you fine folks can help me out. I was driving my 2004 Freestar thru the wet weather last night and hit some water with the left wheel....immediately after the transaxel lite came on and shortly thereafter the check engine lite. Although it still idled fine, I lost power and it did not seem to shift out of first ot second, and definitely didn't like operating under load.
Can I reset the check engine lite?...any hints??

I would check your electrical connectors for water. If you have any water in the connectors, you can experience some odd problems. Check that first, if everthing looks ok then I would try to get the codes to find a starting point on diagnosing. Also check the air filter for moisture- you could have gotten some water on the MAF (Air flow sensor)
