Default 88 t-bird sport with 5.0

First off let me say hi to all. Ok i just bought a 88 t-bird sport 5.0 with 56,300 oringal miles. the car is running great but it has a thumping noise in the rear end when i accelerate and let of the throttle. This dont happen ever time but just concerned bout it.Any thoughts or suggestions would be nice. thanks Aaron

u joints maybe? i had a bumping noise and a friend of mine drove it and thats what he thought it was we replaced and the noise went away.

Check the condition of all the bushings around the differential housing and also the trans mount.
