| Idle Problem My wife has an 02 Expedition 5.4L 4x4. When she starts it cold, mostly in the mornings, it idles as if you had the gas to the floor. The idling comes back down after about 10 seconds. I would understand if she drove the truck cold and we didn't take care of it, but the truck is babied. It's garaged, it's always warmed up before driving (at least 3 minutes plus), oil changes are maintained, and it's never off roaded. I am hoping there is a simple fix to this, maybe just a tune up? |

| The idle on a cold morning should start around 1500 - 2000 rpm then drop as the temp rises. Have seen on many different 5.4 and 4.6 engines. I thought it was odd to start so high, but could not find any reasons why. I would still check over for vacuum leaks.

| Thank you bkf77 Yes, it's a little excessive when it first starts in the morning, and like I said, it's garaged and we're in Arizona, so it shouldn't be like if it were outside in the winter. I will look into the vacuum lines. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, thank you very much.
