put the pulley on the crank sensor reads the toothed wheel on the back which controls spark. |

clean face of timing sensor. metal shavings, grease and dirt, or belt debries could block the signal. | |

..There is a crankshaft sensor that reads the time marks on the pulley/dampener. You need to reinstall the pulley. Don't run it too long without it being connected to all the accessories | |

OK, I put everything back together, I have spark, can smell fuel but it wont start. Truck was running fine when belt initially broke. Is there something i may be missing??? | |

as much as you were turning the motor over without spark the plugs are probably fouled and the cylinders kinda washed out.Take out the plugs and squirt some oil or trans fluid in the cylinders.Spin the motor over a couple of time with the inertia switch tripped so you wont shoot anymore fuel in.reinstall cleaned of plugs,reset inertia switch and try to start truck. | |

|  Still No Luck
Well after pulling the first plug and seeing how bad it was I went ahead and replaced all 8 with new ones. As suggested I gave a squirt of oil in each, unplugged the inertia switch turned it over a few times and then hooked everything back up.
It seemed like it wanted to start at first but didnt.
Any Suggestions???
Do you think popping the clutch would be more successful? I have a good mile long down hill run here. | |
