Default Windstar transmission

This is a first and I'm doing it slower than the Slowski's so bear with me. I have a 2001 3.8L SEL Windstar and the transmission just started spewing fluid. no leaks at the gaskets. I haven't got far enough to see anything with the torque converter, anyone seen this?

Yeah, ask firstwindstar, he had a bad tourqe convertor seal, hopefully you get it figured out and fixed, and that is not the front pump seal. Best thing to do right now is to try to find if the leak is around the cv axles or up by the engine.

Have Dad look at it since he fixes everything.

I don't get it why people always expect a old vehicle that breaks down to always be covered under some warranty?

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

yeah the torque converter seal will spill some crazy fluid if faulty. You need to dismantle the transmission from the engine to get to it. Which means you need to drop the subframe. Let me know if you wanna do it yourself. The part is only 19 bucks from Ford and they charge you 1800 to put it in.

Thanks for the advise, I didn't see anything around the CV areas, came from inside the bell housing. Yes firstwindstar02 I'm attacking it myself. I just had to convince myself it was not the converter, I thought that was as crazy as it comes. Looking forward to spending my weekend under a vehicle.

What about the transmission fluid lines? The transmission pumps the fluid though the fluid lines to the radiator and back to the transmission to keep it cool.

thats true but from inside the bellhousing can only mean torque converter seal. The torque converter itself can be bad as well. Check for burn marks on it. Like a brownish streaks everywhere.
