Default 1995 f150 tranmission removal

Hey, I've been having some transmission trouble with my 95 f150 6cyl 5 speed 4x4. 3, 4, 5, and R all work fine, but when i put the shifter into 1st or 2nd gear, nothing happens when i let out the clutch except for a quiet swishy noise (like a skateboard wheel spinning).

I've determined that the problem is in the transmission and not the clutch, so i am in the process of removing the trans. I have everything disconnected except for two things I am having trouble with.

-How do i remove the clutch line from the slave cylinder?

-I need to remove the shifter or the whole shifter assembly to slide the trans back far enough to clear the input shaft. I have taken out the six bolts that held the assembly on, but cannot get it to separate from the trans.

Any suggestions? i'm not even sure what may be causing the 1st and 2nd gear problem, im guessing a shift fork?
