Default only clicks when key is turned...
Hello, I have a 1982 Ford Econoline van. As stated, it is only giving a single click when the key is turned. i replaced the starter, and it still has the same problem. battery is good, solenoid is good. i'm at a loss. someone mentioned something about the relay, but i'm not sure where that is to check.

is the click coming from the solenoid? how did you check the solenoid? maybe the solenoid has a bad ground? make sure the surface is clean behind the solenoid where it bolts to the fender. you want good contact between the fender and the solenoid.

Most of the time when you get a click its battery cables. Do not replace the solenoid, its not whats wrong.
