Default oil showing up in breather

hey i gots a 89' ford festiva. 140000 miles or so. had a pretty serious valve cover leak . i replaced that then oil started showing up in the air cleaner assembly. pcv valve gets clogged and i have replaced it couple times. there seems to be a excessive amount of crank case pressure. is this a head gasket maybe or something alot more serious.

I would say the little engine is ready for a rebuild. But at the least in need of new valve seals and maybe valve guides and coluld need new valves if the valve stims are worn.

Worn piston rings can cause excessive crankcase pressure resulting in oil in the breather.
You should go see the guys at Welcome to FordFestiva.com .

Yep what I said it maybe ready for a rebuild! Depends on how it was cared for. We own a 1988 festive 4-speed that has 234000 miles and still runs strong. Run nothing but castro and change the oil and filter every 2500 miles. And it runs in the city 6 days a week.
