| Tranny Shift Problems I have a 79 thunderbird with the 429 motor and tranny out of a 69 mercury, the transmission won't shift untill the engine is at 3700rpm, I tried to look at the kickdown linkage to see if it was stuck, but all is well.
I want it to shift at 2500 like normal trannies, does it have some sort of shift kit or stall converter in it and what do I have to get to get it back to normal.
its a 3 speed trans and I want to not drive the @$$ off it to get it to change gears. |

| Check your vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission.

| I can check my other motor sitting on the floor, its a motor and tranny out of a 64, I know the trany shifted well so i'll see if I can find this vaccume thing and switch it over, and look over the placment of the lines, but that would change where the trans shifts at?
I thought converter stall, or kickdown |

| Goes on the side of the transmission. Vacuum line runs up to the intake manifold.
