Default sticking gas pedel

I have a 2000 ranger with 130k miles. it has always had a minor sticking gas pedel problem, but it didn't bother me that much till one day as i was starting off at the light it stuck almost wide open..i shut the engine off, and discovered the throddle cable was freyed. i replaced it,($78 for a 2 ft. cable) but still have a slight sticking when coasting, then pressing the gas pedel..i have cleaned the intake throat, but it still persist's..anyone had this prob...oh ! it is a 4 cyl. engine..other than this minor irritation the truck is great !!

I don't remember a recall but have see them wear out the shaft bushings and cause a binding.Have the dealer run your vin number for all recalls or I thought I read somewhere on this site lists a site that you can do it yourself.

I'm sure you could always hit it with a little wd-40 wherever it seems to be sticking for a quick fix.

There's a place I know about, where the dirt road runs out, and we can try out the 4 wheel drive..come on now, what do you say?
I've got the perfect place in mind, it's in the middle of nowhere, only one way to get there, you got to get a little mud on the tires.
