Default 351 motor to 302 tranny

I have a 1990 f-150 2wd and a 1990 f-150 4wd with a 302. Can i just swap the motors so that the 351 ends up in the 4wd truck? Will the 351 bolt up to the tranny of the 302?

It will bolt up, but there may be some other problems.

I know the older 351w bell housings where diff. from 302 bells. I at least was always told they where . So are the fly wheels and balance issue's.

Who told you that, cause its wrong. The 351w, 351c, 302, and 289 (with the six-bolt pattern, early 289's have a 5-bolt pattern) all have the same bellhousing. The 351m has a different bellhousing. The balance is different between any 351 and a 302. If you use the original (the one on the 351) flywheel or flexplate you shouldn't have to worry about this issue.

The only problem that I can think of is that the flex plate on the 351 is going to be 164 tooth and the one on the 302 is probably 157 tooth. You will have to get a torque converter for the larger flexplate but it will slip right into the same C4.

The NP205 t-case could be found in most Ford, Dodge and GM trucks from I believe the mid 70's to early 80's. My 81 F-150 had one ( heavy beast ) and so did my 79 PowerWagon. Not sure what year the big three switched to the 208.
