Default Oil pressure loss 1999 3.0 Ranger

Hi all,

Oil pressure has gone away......I am aware of common reasons (pump failure, blocked screen, etc.) but have heard that camshaft syncronizer shaft drive failure could cause this. Is this possible, with the engine running just fine, just noisy?

My Ranger did the same thing. We removed the motor and rebuilt the bottom end. The camshaft syncronizer gears were gone. I don't know if the oil pump locked up and it wore off the gears or if it just something that happened. Now we have the motor back in, but cant get it to crank because of an electrical problem. If you have any questions just let me know. Been there, done that, got a T-shirt.
