Fuel Line Connectors for SEFi Injector Rail Sorry for reposting here, but don't seem to be getting any joy on the "Escort" forum. As it is an engine issue throught I'd bring it here.
OK, backstory, my 1.8 si escort has had a misfire since about July last year, finally decided to do something about it, changed a number of sensors, leads, plugs, tried fuel and oil additives nothing made a difference.
I have just recently changed the injectors plus rail (in the processes I found a warped gasket which could be the culprit).
Being used to the old EFi injector rails, I just pulled the fuel lines out of the inlet ports on both old and new(I got the replacement from the local scrappers off an engine that had 55k on with a bad head gasket for £10, couldn't say no), thinking they were just push fits, as appose to the skrew types of the previous generation.
To my surprise I found out I'd just snapped the factory sealed inlet connectors. I have a spare 1.6 EFi rail but do not want to start ripping injectors out of the rails unless I have to.
I've patched it up and it has made a difference to the performance but it is only a temporary meassure
Anyway my question is, is there any way I can provide a long term stable and sealed placement for the connectors I'd just ripped in 2?
PS, I think I'm just gonna stop driving when I can't get down the scrappers to fix my escorts any more cos they ran out.
Thanks
