Default Guaranteed unique custom project - need help...

I'm building a one-of-a-kind vehicle and I need some help with it.

Anybody ever see The Road Warrior? Yeah, I'm building one of the vehicles from that movie. Its the six wheeled vehicle the leader drives around in. I have an '84 F100 for the base vehicle, and I'm to the point where I am ready to weld on the extra middle axles. My first take on it was to get a truck front rotor and spindle, fabricate a type of wishbone suspension out of pipe to give it some horizontal movement, and weld it on.

It didn't work so well.

I half-knew it wasn't the best set-up, but I wanted to give it a try. Anyway, on the test drive it broke off when I made a turn. Back to the drawing board.

My question is this: does anyone know if Ford made a shoulder axle that will fit the truck rotors I have? I'd just weld or bolt the shoulder axle in place and be done with it. Or, does anyone have a better idea? An engineer I am not. I'd really appreciate the help.

Here are a few pics of the work I've done. I know it doesn't work now and it doesn't matter, but if anyone is interested on how NOT to do this project:

Thanks,

HUMVEE Driver

Your first mistake is using plumbing parts for suspension, your gonna snap them in half.

Good luck and I would like to see more photos.

Well I didn't really consider it "suspension"; I just thought I needed enough to keep the tire/wheel in place as the truck rolled along.

Isnt there some type of vehicle out there you could steal this type of set-up from?
