Default 1986 3.8l Bearings question

I have a 1986 Mustang with a 3.8l in it, the oil pressure was pinning the gauge at the top when cold and zero when hot. Since I heard a slight rod knock on start up I took apart the bottom end. What would cause the weird pressure readings?
Now I bought some bearings (Fed Mogul), but the oem bearings have a hole in the center of each rod bearing but the new ones do not. Will these work(since I am a distance from where I bought them) or do I need to get others?
Most of the old bearings are showing copper, some have deep scratches, I assume this would be enough to have no oil pressure.
One more question does this engine have a timing chain tensioner?

Thanks for you help
