Default 97 mercury wont start. no fuel pump power

This is my dad's car. It is in great condition. It has been sitting for 2-3 years. It has been keep garaged and covered. The problem right this moment is that it is not getting power to the fuel pump. We just changed the fuel pump and sending unit. The new fuel pump was tested and is good. The battery is good and cranks over fine. The radiator fan also kicks on when you turn the key on.

haven't been able to locate it. Where would it be? Is it like the bosh style, ford style, Or is it built into another controller?

No power to fuel pump?
When you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump prime? It is in your gas tank. IF you are not sure, open the gas cap, and listen while someone else turns the key on.

Check the inertia switch (fuel safety cut off switch). The red button should be depressed.

Pull out your owner's manual.
IF you don't have one, you may obtain one here...
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ers%5Fmanuals/
It will have a diagram under roadside emergencies of which fuse powers the fuel pump relay. Check the fuse(s). (note: there may be more than one fuse... one to the relay, one to the pump, and maybe one that goes from the power distribution box to the fuse circuits under the dash)

IF that is good then check the relay.
How to check a fuel pump relay

When you are looking at an older vehicle one must examine connections to make sure they are clean and tight.

You'll also be well served by checking your grounds. Most Fords have a couple on the radiator support, one or both fender/quarter panels, and one or two on the firewall inside the engine compartment.

the relay is inside the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module)

if you tell me the model and engine i could tell you location and wire colors to check.

the CCRM is a metal box about 3x4 maybe 4x5 normally located near the battery or by the radiator support and has a lot of wires connected to it by one large connector.
