Default Extra Help for mis fireing Ford

Alrighty i narrowed down where my miss is coming from however there seems to be oil collected up around the plug itself, now i hope this is just a burnt valve. however my fear is that the rings have collapsed around the piston letting the oil through. i know for a fact that the plug is firing i took it out and connected it to the wire laying on the block when i started the truck it seemed to be firing and seemed to have plenty of compression... any more help that could be given would be greatly appreciated

Welcome,
Please go to your control panel and enter some info about your car.. make model engine number of miles. This way when you ask a question we'll have a little something to go by and we can be more specific in our responses.

Consider doing an actual compression check, if that cylinder is relatively low, then add a table spoon of oil into the cyl and recheck. IF the compression goes up it is the rings, if not, its the valves.
