Default 97 Escort with leakage and keeps shutting off

So I have a 97 Ford Escort.
and i just replaced the radiator.
its now leaking, and getting hot.
it made this HORRIBLE clicking noise and lost power and shut off.

i checked the radiator and filled it with water and coolant and it leaks but it went all out by the time i got 10 miles.

any reoccuring issues people have?
