Default 2000 4r100 in RV problem

I'm asking on behalf of my sister-in-law who is having transmission problems. I know that it is a 2000 Ford Triton V10 with a 4EOD style 4r100 transmission. The symtom is after backing up and braking to a complete stop, placing the transmission drive it will not move but you can downshift to low, start moving then place into drive and no other apparent problems. Only happens after reverse.

sounds like a linkage problem to me. I'm guessing that you haven't taken a look at it yet?
