Default Why and Where....transmission control module

Hi all,

Need some help here I bought a 03 Ford Fiesta Durashift only last month and it just stopped working the other day so its in with a Ford specialist and he has just told me the transmission control module is after going in it.

Firstly does anyone know why or how this would have gone? and is it likely to happen again?

Its going to cost over €1300 for the part alone new (which i can't afford)

Does anyone know where to get a new one reasonably cheap Or do you know anyone breaking fiesta Durashift?

Thanks for your help hope i posted this in the right place.

if you get the tech manual, you may be able to do it yourself if you have some tools and a bit of know how, or have a friend that knows cars do it. go to a few good parts stores and shop around for one. it is a spendy part. if all else fails, start a price war if you can.
