engine dies when I put car in neutral Hi,
I have a 2002 Ford Focus wagon with manual transmission. A few days ago, my car died on me on my way home with no warning. My car recently had its 90,000 service and had been performing fine. I stopped at a roadside stand to get some corn. When I got back in the car, it started funny; I had to gun it to keep it from stalling. Once I got moving I thought I was in the clear. But when I approached the first stop light, the engine died the instant I put the car in neutral before braking. I had to gun the engine to get it restarted to get through the light. As I approached the next light, the exact same thing happened again. I was going around 30 mph and put the car in neutral to begin my approach to the stop light. The instant I put it in neutral, the engine died and all the dash lights came on. I had three more cut outs like this on my way home, but I did make it. The next morning, I it started fine and idled fine. When I turned it off though, I could not restart it. HELP!
